The War with Iran

The war with Iran is illegal. However odious and dangerous the extremist regime in Iran, there was no imminent threat. Congress should have declared the war with Iran illegal at the outset.

To secure Iran’s enriched uranium and prevent Iran from developing a nuclear bomb — the declared U.S. war aim — and employing Teddy Roosevelt’s Big Stick diplomacy, the U.S. should have led NATO, Mideast, and world allies in diplomatically confronting Iran, demanding Iran enter a Treaty or face immediate consequences — starting with a quarantine of all vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports.

The best thing now is to sustain or re-enter a cease-fire, and swiftly sign a Treaty with Iran that is also entered into and signed by our U.S. allies.

Restoring America’s Place in the World

  • Restoring U.S. leadership in the world — projecting our strength, equity, and moral authority. Restoring the world’s admiration and respect for America.
  • Restoring America’s leadership role in NATO and our other major international alliances.
  • Seeking a Treaty with Iran joined by all our major allies throughout the world.
  • Once the Iran war is solved, seeking lasting peace in the Mideast based on a 2-State Solution.
  • Making the U.S. once more the world’s Indispensable Leader and Leader of the Free World.
